Bureaucracy

Bureaucracy is an interactive video game published by Infocom in 1987, written by science fiction author Douglas Adams.

The player is faced with a long and complicated series of bureaucratic obstacles resulting from a recent change of address.

Mail is not delivered, bank accounts are inaccessible and nothing is as it should be.

The game includes a simulated blood pressure measurement that increases when frustrating events occur and decreases after a period of relatively quiet events.

Once a certain level of blood pressure is reached, the player undergoes an aneurysm and the game ends.

While taking on the seemingly simple task of recovering badly routed mail, the player encounters a number of bizarre characters, including a hacker, a paranoid gun enthusiast and a Zalagasan cannibal tribe.
